What a PWA actually means
MedExpiry is a Progressive Web App — PWA for short. Unlike a standard website that requires a live internet connection to function, a PWA caches its core assets and data locally on your device. Once you've opened MedExpiry on a device, it continues to work even when the connection drops.
What works offline
When offline, you can view your full medicine inventory, check expiry statuses, search for specific medicines by name or batch number, and access previously loaded reports. Billing records already loaded remain accessible. The interface behaves exactly as it does online.
What requires a connection
Adding new medicines, uploading CSV files, and syncing changes across devices require an active connection. Any changes made offline are queued and synced automatically the moment connectivity is restored — no manual action needed.
Installing MedExpiry on your device
Open MedExpiry in Chrome or Safari on any device. You will see an Install prompt in your browser toolbar — tap it and MedExpiry is added to your home screen like a native app. No app store. No download. It works on Android phones, iPhones, tablets, and desktop computers equally.
