Introduction

Who are we?

MedExpiry is a product of GoFreeLab Technologies, a software company based in Kochi, Kerala, India. We build pharmacy inventory and medicine expiry tracking software for pharmacies, medical stores, distributors, and healthcare providers.

What does this Privacy Policy cover?

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, where we store it, and your rights under the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What data do we collect?

When you register and use MedExpiry, we collect your name, email address, phone number, pharmacy or business name, location or address, medicine inventory data, and usage data (pages visited, features used, and actions taken inside the app).

Do we collect payment information?

No. MedExpiry is currently free to use during the beta period, so we do not collect payment information.

Data Usage

How do we use your data?

We use your data to create and manage your MedExpiry account, operate and deliver the medicine expiry tracking and inventory management service, send product updates and announcements, respond to support requests, improve features, and comply with applicable Indian laws.

Do we use your data for advertising?

No. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

Data Storage & Security

Where is your data stored?

Your data is stored on servers located within India, hosted on a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure India region). We apply industry-standard security practices, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure authentication.

What happens in case of a data breach?

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Data Sharing

Do we share your data with third parties?

We do not share your personal data with third parties except with cloud infrastructure providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) solely to host and operate the service, when required by Indian law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GoFreeLab Technologies or its users.

Do we use cookies?

MedExpiry uses session cookies and local storage to keep you logged in and maintain your app state. These are functional and essential to the service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

What are your rights under Indian data protection law?

Data Retention

How long do we retain your data?

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by Indian law or for resolving disputes.

Is MedExpiry intended for children?

MedExpiry is intended for use by pharmacy professionals and business owners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

How will we notify you of changes to this policy?

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email if the changes are significant. Continued use of MedExpiry after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
